Week One: Sabotage-the undermining of a cause
* break from old way to modern warfare
* be stategic in reaching people
* don't impress people impact them
* the church is the ark of protection and where i should be to get help
with the "doodie" in my life. (I will never forget the visual of Pastor

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (King James Version)
Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. James 1:22-24 (The Message)
Thank You for letting me be myself again.
I am learning to like myself as I am TODAY. I no longer am hating who I was. I am no longer anxious of never becoming. I am learning who I am and learning to be THAT self, not the self people think I am or expect me to be. I guess I do like myself. I am forgiven and forgiving. I am Free. (Acts Chapter 13 moment???)

I don't know what happened.....I was in a daze. The more I thought about Jesus blood sacrifice for ME????......the more dazed i became.
Lord, that you would die for someone like me is so far beyond my understanding. Thank You Jesus.

I believe in God The Giver of the Vision. I believe in the vision as given to the man of God. Yes, I CAN see it. I embrace it. I own it. It is mine.
I remember when the Lord spoke to me several years. I was in a very low place. The Lord said, I was coming into a place of new beginnings. Shortly after the birth of my daughter Genesis I came to New Vision Ministry Center. Thank You Jesus, I made it. The timing of God met the promise of God and propelled me forward into the purpose of God. I am beginning to walk in the destiny he designed for me to walk in. That's great....but what about the others? How can I live so selfishly? Don't forget where you came from. There are still others waiting, hoping to make it beyond where they are currently living yet almost dying. They are searching.

Attitude
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes”

Uh oh, I'm thinking as the bile backs up into my throat. I felt so sick to my stomach. I was at the point of giving up my lunch. It was painful and was bitter. The words of a friend echoed in my head from years back. One word she spoke and that word was brokenness. Visions of Isaiah the prophet come racing into my head. Woe is me. Her mouth is my mouth is her mouth. No. This cannot be happen. Am I the person I said I would never be like? Help me, Lord.
Welcome into this place.
Welcome into this broken vessel.
You desire to abide in the praises of your people
so we lift our hands
and we lift our hearts
and we offer up this praise unto your name.....

Why am I thinking about "the incident"??? And why am I thinking about it as Tha' Preacher is showing pictures of his son playing bball. HIs sons team was undefeated. My boy wants to play ball. His Anger. MY resentment. Mama. (Sigh) Would you call it ironic that Tha' Preacher is a fan like mama. Lord...What was that. I thought he wasn't paying because his behavior was.....Remember #4? I hear you, Lord. I get it. I'm bitter not broken.
I have a bad attitude. I have taught my children how to have a bad attitude. Could it be my boy's lack of respect is directly related to my lack of respect towards his father? Bitterness. Perhaps even ungratefulness.
But didn't I lose EVERYTHING???????? Tha' Preacher says, RACHEL (not really though, but it felt like it) You must realize your gains.
Tha Preacher told a great story. He always does. This time it was more than a story it was the story of my life.
Bad experience. Pain. Wall goes up. Keeps me in. Keeps (fill in the blank) out. Fear. Stuck. Bitterness. Depression. Now, it is "time to get past the defeat of yesterday."
Defeats: stolen innocence
loss my voice
missed carefree years
college plans twarted

siblings missing
parents and the great expanse between us

"Be committed to get past the defeat of yesterday". No, I won't give up now. I have lost a lot but I have gained something that is greater than everything. A closer walk with Jesus. I am stronger now. I want to be even more free. It is time to break free from yesterdays defeat. Thank you Lord for doing what you had to do to get me to see ME. I have been ugly inside and out. True beauty is now breaking forth.Yayyy Jesus. My mouth has used hurtful words as a substitute for outright eye for an eye revenge. It has been intentional for so long it became habitual and now I'm getting my residual (it rhymed but was it sensible?) I'll show you, I said. That is so ugly. Grumpy is not sexy nor is it sophisticated, darling.
Thank you for the wakeup call. Thank YOu for loving me too much to allow me to stay the way I am. When Tha' Preacher gave the altarcall I went into a daze. Lord....YOU want me to stand up in front of all these church people and admit that I have a bad attitude. Am I the only person in this church with a bad attitude. I am always on this altar, Lord do I have to go this time? What will they think? I am soooo embarrassed but I need this breakthrough. I have GOT to change. How can I describe what I feel? There is an aching desire for change and now. The tears are flowing.
Message: The call demands discipline. You must be broken. Without brokenness you will lack character. Without character you will not be a person of integrity. Blindly leading you will fall into a ditch along with those who follow you.

The enemy doesn't want me to go too far.
I was thinking earlier today about this. In the midst of my thought process my mind started to take inventory of my life as a whole and the "going too far" concept. In this little journey back over my life I came to a startling and troubling realization. In prior times, before I was saved I went to the limit for the enemy and to an extent that I've never gone for The Lover Of My Soul. :( Ouch... that hurt.) I went far. I went farther. Then even MORE farther (is that even a word?) I broke rules to the extreme and didn't care about the consequences. I lied. I was a whoremonger that allowed myself to be disrespected and misused....and liked it. A thief, an alcoholic and habitual user of substances.I didnt love anyone or anything not even my own life. Now that I'm a saved I follow " the rules" when I feel like it and am extremly concerned about my comfort level. I know the truth and sometimes don't speak it. I get angry and lash out over any bit of disrespect it seems....I hate it. I don't give as freely as I should and am full of the spirit as long as I am in a good mood. I've been a mean christian. I am overly concerned about lossess and I'm still grieving over the woulda, shoulda, couldas in my life. My life is all I seem to care about these days. What is wrong with this picture??? How dare I act fearful now. How dare I hold back on God. I am checking myself today.Upon hearing the voice of the Lord calling me to a deeper level of sacrifice I won't let (fill in the blank) hold me back. Nothing ever held me back from doing what the enemy put in my mind to do. I long to be genuine in every sense of the word. To be effective is what I seek.Lord if you don't help me it won't be done.
Compromise is the "little fox that spoils the vine" It doesn't seem like a big deal that I cuss at my child everytime he does something I don't like.Compromise... the thief that steals my blessing. No more compromise. I vow today to seek God about areas of compromise that I may not even realize exist. I vow by the power of the Holy Spirit to eradicate the areas of compromise I know exist. At the end of the fight compromise will be down and I will be standing, In the name of Jesus!
Lord forgive me for being tolerant and silent in areas where I should have spoken out. Forgive me for the times when by my silence I gave my approval to things that you have already spoken on through your word. Forgive me for my disobedience. Forgive me for being fearful. Forgive me for complancency and for allowing the cares of this life to steal my focus. Forgive me for being unwilling to die and to "die" for you. I will go all the way with you, In Jesus name. I will trust you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

I attended second service. Pastor preached like there was no tommorrow. It was so goooood. I've been thinking on it. For once I actually remember the points that were being made without having to pull out my notes.

Title of the Sermon: Let's Go All the Way.
Scripture Reference: Acts 7, Exodus 8, Exodus 2, Exodus 10, Malachi 3, Exodus 12
Lesson Received Three things the enemy doesnt want me to do:
For the first time in a long time I actually got it! All the points that is. My mind did'nt wander and I was able to focus. I received the knowledge. Application however is a different area altogether. The purpose of this blog is to chronicle the APPLICATION of the preached word. To capture the Word in action(is that even possible?) and my response to it. To inspire accountablility and to facilitate growth and lasting CHANGE.
I have a Confession. I have not blogged as much as I could have.....I have not humbled myself to the extent that would be neccessary for this blog to be effective in my life. I am starting over again today and renewing my commitment to personal growth by reading, mediation and application of the preached word.

At the Cross
Alas! and did my Savior bleed
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For sinners such as I?
Refrain
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
Thy body slain, sweet Jesus, Thine—
And bathed in its own blood—
While the firm mark of wrath divine,
His Soul in anguish stood.
Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!
Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man the creature’s sin.
Thus might I hide my blushing face
While His dear cross appears,
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,
And melt my eyes to tears.
But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
’Tis all that I can do.

What was it about Samson that made the impossible possible?
The Spirit of the Lord came upon him.
Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
II Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty.
Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Acts 6:10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I come to the conclusion that if I put confidence in myself I will fail everytime. I must humble myself and ACCEPT the help of the Lord. As I obey God the Spirit of the Lord will move on my behalf.
Do you think it possible that Samson forgot it was the Spirit of the Lord that came upon him?

One of those nights with the ol hubby o mine.
A feverish, shaking, crying baby,
Somebody decides they want to "communicate" til the wee hours of the morning . Doesn't anyone around here respect my need for beauty rest?
Okay, so I made an early morning appointment with acute care. On the way to the doctor I had to stop to pick up my son. We made it to the doctor without a moment to spare. I took my already sick baby out of the car in the falling rain as I did so I almost tripped and fell. Ughhhhhh. After sitting in the doctors office for a while we were seen. Diagnoses????Still don't know why she is sick. Give her temperature drops they say.
I was really pressed for time. I just had to get to church. I rushed my kids back out into the falling rain determined I am going to make it to church ON TIME. I get in the car and head on out of the parking lot and what do i discover???I have no gas. Yes the gas light is blinking and glaring at me. So I have to stop. What in the world is going ON???? I pulled up into the gas station and run in to pay for gas. My son is not pumping! I decide to buy pastry so my husband doesn't have to cook breakfast when he wakes up and watch a sick baby all at the same time. Lord have mercy. Finally my son got a clue. He got out and pumped the gas. Off we go with donuts and juice to take baby to daddy and then try to make it to church on time.
I looked at the clock as i drove down the road. It read 10:40. I was so tempted to bring my baby to church in her pajamas. Deciding against it I drop son off and tear down the road. As I go the "back way" I pray for Bambi and her friends that they don't cross my path today... I am on a mission, church or bust. Finally, making it to the house I get her in and settled in record time. Thank You Jesus! NVMC here I come.
God is so awesome. The church parking lot was full to capacity and running over yet I get a prime parking spot right next to the door. Yayyyy Jesus! I made it! Boy am I glad. There is nothing like Sunday Morning. I made it!
